Reserve Police Officer

Have you contemplated contributing more to our community and just don't quite know how? Have you deliberated about being a police officer? Do you have employment that keeps you from devoting full time into our community?

Consider becoming a reserve police officer for our team!

The Teague Police Department is proud of our Reserve Officer Program. Reserve police officers for the department are volunteer (non-paid) certified Texas Peace Officers who have the primary responsibility of collaborating with our full-time officers and assisting at other times when needed.

Reserve officers work in partnership with our full-time officers to help maintain public health and safety, protect life and property, and provide service to the community.

We believe the Reserve Officer Program enhances the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the department and is more beneficial to our citizens.

Reserve officers are required to go through the same hiring process, complete the same field training program, and abide by the same standards of conduct as full-time officers. Reserves are required to work a minimum of 24 hours per month.

The department does furnish reserve officers with the necessary uniforms and equipment.

Reserve officers are given preference when a full-time opening becomes available if interested.

We would encourage you, if you are interested in joining our team as a reserve police officer, to start the process by filling out the City Employment Application, the Personal History Statement, Police Officer Job Description, and review our Hiring and Selection & our Reserve Officer Program Policies. You may turn in the City Employment Application and the Personal History Statement to the Teague Police Department via mail or in-person (*NOTE: Original documents must be included with packet).
