Retirement

Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS).

Employees contribute 7% of their pay and the city matches with 12.76%.

5 Year Vestment.

Longevity Pay

After completing one (1) full fiscal year of service, employees receive $10/month of service served (Paid out each December).

Paid Holidays:

New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth Observed, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving (Friday), Christmas Eve , Christmas Day, 1/2 day for New Year’s Eve, and a Floating Holiday for the employee's birthday (after completing 1 full year of employment with the city).

Vacation

First year - 80 hours on anniversary date (Full time employees accrue vacation leave during their first year of employment but are ineligible to use it until after completing one full year of employment).

2-4 years of service - 308 hours each pay period.

5 - 9 years of service - 4.62 hours each pay period

10 or more years of service - 6.15 hours each pay period

Maximum accrual an employee may have at one time is thirty (30) days.

Sick Leave

Full time employees - 8 hours for each month of continuous service (no service time restriction to use)

Maximum accrual an employee may have at one time is thirty (30) days.

Texas Life Insurance

On June 20, 2022, Our Board of Aldermen approved an employee benefit package in which the city pays 100% of the employee medical insurance and one-half of dependent medical insurance,  then beginning October 1, 2022, the city will begin paying for 100% of the employee and dependent dental and vision plan coverage.
