Police Secretary / deputy court clerk

The City of Teague has an opening for a full-time Police Department Secretary / Deputy Court Clerk.This position responsible for performing clerical duties, processing reports, and maintaining department and court files and records.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Answers and directs incoming telephone calls;
Provides citizen assistance by fielding questions, concerns, and complaints from the general public;
Performs word processing, data entry duties, general clerical duties including typing, filing, and photocopying;
Prepares, types, and distributes correspondence, memos, and reports;
Researches court and department records;
Enters and updates cases and information into the computer system;
Maintains inventory of division equipment and supplies;
Maintains and updates department files, records, and reports;
Provides secretarial support for Community Services;
Maintains records of expenditures;
Maintains confidentiality of extremely sensitive and restricted information.

Education: A high school diploma or GED
Experience: Two years of secretarial experience is required. Employee is expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well within six months to one year of employment.

License/Certifications: Must have valid driver's license and good driving record

The City of Teague is currently accepting applications for a full-time Experienced Police Canine Handler for narcotics detection.

The canine handler position is first a patrol officer position, which has additional duties involving the use, care and training of a police dog. The handler must stay informed on all new canine deployment and training techniques. The canine handler must be willing to have the police dog live with his family and have suitable living space for it and live within a required response time for utilization, as determined by case law. The canine handler is responsible for any reports and evaluations arising out of the canine assignment. The canine handler is responsible for all canine training and keeping the dog at an acceptable level of readiness.

Must be TCOLE Certified and have experience/certification as a Police Canine (K9) handler.
4-years of experience as a peace officer, with min of 1-year canine experience preferred.
Interdiction and Canine training/certification necessary.
Must be able to pass the following: Full TCOLE Background Investigation, Oral Board and drug Tests.
Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Policer Officer in a Small City. Duties include but are not limited to enforcing Federal and State Laws and Ordinances of
the City of Teague. Candidates must undergo a background investigation, drug screening, oral interview, must be able
to use computerized equipment and must be in good physical condition.

Job Requirements: Education, training, experience:

TCLOSE certified, Valid Texas Drivers License, must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
