Animal Control / code enforcement / 911 coordinator


The City of Teague is currently accepting applications for a full-time employee that would perform duties of Animal Control, Code Enforcement and 911 Coordinator. Licenses and experience is preferred but not required. Applicant eligible to obtain Animal Control and Code Enforcement licensing, be able to pass a full background investigation, interview board and drug test. Animal Control:
Respond to citizen requests concerning stray animals, nuisances or other animal issues. Apprehend stray animals and impounding lost and injured animal. Responsible for the protection of the public from zoonotic diseases and animal bites, as well as investigate nuisances caused by animals. Responsible for enforcing animal related city ordinances and state laws throughout the community.

Code Enforcement:
Performs inspections and follow-up on public complaints, including neighborhood inspections. Maintains case files, which includes: entering case information into data processing program; communicating with the public regarding complaints and violations; issuing notices of violations; investigates non-compliance with city code violations; taking photographs of code violations for documentation. Conducts research which includes locating property and vehicle owners, permits, and owner and parcel information; gathering information for court cases. Abate code violations according to state law and city ordinances. Prepares & maintains records, which includes compiling data and preparing reports. Investigate citizen complaints relating to local and state laws, city ordinances, and codes related to environmental or public health nuisances. Set up schedule for inspections and follow-up inspections to ensure code compliance. Coordinates duties and projects with other city departments and outside agencies involved in code enforcement. Increases compliance with city codes by communicating in a professional manner to citizen complaints and questions either in person, by telephone & in writing.

911 Coordinator:
Review and assign properties within the City limits appropriate 911 addresses.

Job Requirements

Licenses and experience are preferred but not required. CANINE POLICE HANDLER


The City of Teague is currently accepting applications for a full-time Experienced Police Canine Handler for narcotics detection.

The canine handler position is first a patrol officer position, which has additional duties involving the use, care and training of a police dog. The handler must stay informed on all new canine deployment and training techniques. The canine handler must be willing to have the police dog live with his family and have suitable living space for it and live within a required response time for utilization, as determined by case law. The canine handler is responsible for any reports and evaluations arising out of the canine assignment. The canine handler is responsible for all canine training and keeping the dog at an acceptable level of readiness.

QUALIFIED APPLICANT
Must be TCOLE Certified and have experience/certification as a Police Canine (K9) handler.
4-years of experience as a peace officer, with min of 1-year canine experience preferred.
Interdiction and Canine training/certification necessary.
Must be able to pass the following: Full TCOLE Background Investigation, Oral Board and drug Tests.
Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Police Officer

The City of Teague is currently accepting applications for 2 full-time Police Officers. $2,000 Hiring Incentive with all new hired applicants. The incentive will be distributed as follows: $1,000.00 paid after completion of the Field Training Program and the other $1,000.00 paid at the end of 1 year service. A 24-month service agreement is required, before being hired.

Requirements
QUALIFIED APPLICANT
• Must be TCOLE Certified
• Must be a minimum of 20 1/2 years of age
• Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver's license (upon employment) and have a good driving record.
• Must not have been convicted of a felony at any time or a Class B misdemeanor or above in the last 10 years.
• Must be a United States citizen.
• Must have an honorable discharge from the Armed Forces, if applicable.
• Must have vision correctable to 20/20.
• Must be able to pass the following: Full TCOLE Background Investigation, Oral Board and drug Tests

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $16.00 /hour starting, with $0.50 increase after 6 months. $40.00 extra per pay check for Intermediate or higher TCOLE certification.

RESERVE POLICE OFFICER

Policer Officer in a Small City. Duties include but are not limited to enforcing Federal and State Laws and Ordinances of
the City of Teague. Candidates must undergo a background investigation, drug screening, oral interview, must be able
to use computerized equipment and must be in good physical condition.

Job Requirements: Education, training, experience:

TCLOSE certified, Valid Texas Drivers License, must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
