The City of Teague, Texas, is a community-minded small town with a population of 3,500. Teague is located 45 miles east of Waco, 120 miles south of Dallas and 180 miles north of Houston. City of Teague is a Type A General Law city operating under the aldermanic form of government. The Board of Aldermen consists of a Mayor and five Aldermen.

The Chief of Police is a dynamic, visionary leader to direct all facets of the City's Police Department including field operations, investigations, support services, and general department administration. The Teague Police Department has 8 sworn officer and 2 civilian positions, including the Animal Control / Code Enforcement.

Job Requirements: Education, training, experience:
The ideal candidate must have 8-10 years of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience, with 4 years of supervisory and administrative experience. The position requires experience TCOLE Advanced Police Officer certification (or ability to obtain) and possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License (or ability to obtain) with a clear record. A bachelor’s degree, TCOLE Master Certification, and the completion of an advanced Police Management/Administrative Development Program are not required but are preferred qualifications.

Animal control / code enforcement / 911 coordinator

The City of Teague is currently accepting applications for a full-time employee that would perform duties of Animal Control, Code Enforcement and 911 Coordinator. Licenses and experience is preferred but not required.

Job Requirements: Education, training, experience:

Animal Control and Code Enforcement Licenses preferred, if not licensed must be able to obtain Animal Control and Code Enforcement licensing, be able to pass a full background investigation, interview board and drug test. Policer Officer in a Small City. Duties include but are not limited to enforcing Federal and State Laws and Ordinances of
the City of Teague. Candidates must undergo a background investigation, drug screening, oral interview, must be able
to use computerized equipment and must be in good physical condition.

Job Requirements: Education, training, experience:

TCLOSE certified, Valid Texas Drivers License, must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
